Default B16 with built head

Okay i read the FAQ but didnt entirely find my answer. There is this guy in my area who has a 2000 Civic Si who just totally romped on my GTI twice. I asked what he has and he said B16 with a built head, all motor. He has a stupid NOS sticker on his rear bumper, kinda small and inconspicuous but i noticed after he beat me. I started to gain on him while in 3rd gear though. Plus he had stock exhaust, two racing seats and i believe full interior

I know most B series parts are interchangeable but which head and mods would give him really good low and mid power. I also know the B16 has shorter gear ratios than most, correct?

yeah pretty much so speaking of the trans.. u both have pretty heavy cars... so that doesnt sound out the ordinary, especially keeping in mind driver skills.

some mods that would give him low end power could be all kinds of things, keepin in mind he has a stock exhaust, but he could have cams, port and polish work, ecu tuning, etc, and that stock exhaust mite not be as stock as u think.. my all motor hatch had a stock exhaust...from an ITR...alot better than a stock exhaust, although it looks stock, and maybe a good clutch and lightened flywheel.. those will make that car take off from a start pretty nasty
