i have a 4th gen prelude and i need to get the serial number for the radio, cuase the anit-theift device kicked in and i didnt get the code when i bought the car. i know where all the screws are at and i know what to do, but the only thing i cant do is figure out how to get the damned center consloe out. when i try to take it out the freakin e-brake blocks the way, i could just break the damn left corner on the console but...is there another method to remove the center console for an automatic 95 prelude se? or ways around the e-brake? any tips will help
Have you removed the real console(like 6 screws) It makes it alot easier. Also pull the e-brake all the way up and remove the screw holding the top part of the shifter on.Then i think i tilted the back of the console up and it came out(its a pain ) Good luck.
Um....
I just replaced the head unit in my 4th gen auto, and didn't have to touch the e-brake.
Make sure all of the screws are out of the plastic cover, put the shift selector in Neutral (ok, so I did "touch" the ebrake to keep it from rolling), and the cover should pop right up (with a little "persuading").
EDIT: Mine might be different b/c I have the console that goes all the way through the backseat, didn't think of that before.
