Default Question regarding aftermarket Spark Plug Wires...

I have a 96' Honda Accord 2dr LX that about a month or two ago replaced the Spark Plug Wires. I have been a user of Bosch tune up parts for years and have had good success with them on all my cars. Although lately with the Honda, I have been noticing that all 4 wires don't fit all the way down in the holes like the old stock wires that I had on them did. I called the dealer and they said that this has been a problem with after market wires on these engines.

I went ahead and asked the price for the stock wires and he quoted me almost $130.00. I only paid $38.00 for my Bosch wires and thought the OEM ones were a bit pricey.

My question is has anyone ever heard about this problem and if so, is there anything out there I can use besides the OEM wires that is a tad bit cheaper?

Thanks!

OEM wires are the best for the cars. If you want to use aftermarket, get MSD. Pricey but won't break down after a few months

Thanks. I have heard of people using the NGK plug wires. Are those any good for my car? It's used primarily as a daily driver and not into racing or any such.

I am trying to see if there is an alternative to using OEM wires that will work just as good. Don't get me wrong I would love to get OEM everything for my car but I can't afford the $130 wires now and I am trying to figure out why I am having the shuttering problem I stated in my last post.

I have not found any info anywhere else on the net relating to my problem so I am not sure if it's just a bad set I got. But after hearing what the dealer said I am really confused now...

you are ok using NGK plug wires i have installed them on many cars on people that dont want to pay dealer prices but $ 130 seems too high for plug wires ,,i thought they were around 60-65 dollars

I'm planning on going w/ NGK on both cars when they need replacement. I've found them pretty affordable on ebay. And NGK plugs too...

Okay, thanks everyone for the info on this.

I have just one last question regarding this....

I will probably just break down and buy the OEM one's but before I do I have looked at both NGK and Prestolite also. Both of them saying they make the OEM wires for Honda for that year (1996). Before I fork out the money, does anyone know who makes the true OEM wires or is it neither and they are just feeding me a line of BS. Both NGK and Prestolite plug wires are available locally and are around $50+ tax.
