How much for a typical h22 engine buildup (rods, pistons, sleeves)??
I'm currently boosting on stock internals, but I'm starting to get worried on how long my ringlands are going to last (wouldn't be surprised if they're already cracked). Just wondering how much I should expect to spend to have my engine rebuilt using new pistons/rods and sleeves.
I'd do some of the work myself, but I'm afraid that I might get in over my head when it comes to pulling the engine and I really don't want to buy/rent the equipment to do it.
So back to the question, anyone know about how much a rebuild will cost if I had someone do it for me vs. doing some of the work myself?

Okay, I am almost done doing this myself, so I will give you as much advice as I can.
I am doing an h22 with golden eagle sleeves, je pistons, and eagle rods. However, when you build your motor for more boost, consequently you end up having to upgrade more things. Namely, injectors, exhaust, radiator, engine management, etc. I set my whp goal high and am building to that so my injectors I upgraded to precision 1000cc. My engine management was fine for me but if you are running a vafc or something, that might need to be changed. I actually dropped the motor with a buddy out the bottom with the aid of a jack and bought a ring compressor and other misc. tools real cheap at a local parts store. However, there are machine shop costs like pressing the wristpins into the pistons and such, and magnafluxing the head just to insure its straight. I have never priced it out to have someone else do it but to do it myself, I have spent somewhere around $5000 just because I want to do it right the first time.

1700.
since ur in ohio..2000 because u need to ship it to GE, earl, RS mach..to get ur block sleeved.. i dont know if ur going to go the ARP studs route and such..but for piston, rods sleeves..it's near 2000.
pistons and rods will run u about 1000 total and another 700 for the sleeve job and 300 for the shipping..shipping isnt going to be that much..but there is also tax on other things.

it cost me:
1050 shipped back and forth to earl
600 for crower rods
460 for cp pistons
300 for new bearings and seals
200 for new oil pump
60 for new water pump
200 for assembly
2870

Thanks for the info everyone. That gives me a good idea of what I'll be spending.
Anyone know of any shops around ohio that could perform the re-sleeving, or should I just bite the bullet and pay the shipping to send it out?
I really wish honda would've made the h22 stronger from the factory. I'd be fine with running 5 lbs., but it seems like even that's too much for the wimpy ringlands over a period of time. Almost makes me want to take it back to N/A, but I think I'd miss the boost too much.
