Default engine swap possibilities?

I have a 1996 v6 Accord as a winter car and am wondering what engine/tranny I can use. Will the j30 engine fit right in without modification? The only issue with the 6th gen (j30) is weak trannies correct and I am assuming the j30 engine with my original tranny won't work? The 7th gen is out of the question as they are too expensive. Is my only option to get another c27? Oh and this all came about due to my cel (some tranny error) and abs coming on. I am just figuring out is a swap would be a lot cheaper than finding another winter car. Thanks.

That doesn't help much.

You don't have many cheap options... Custom mounts for the j30a1 = $$... Your best bet, like you said, would be to get another c27... or another winter car..! Please let me know if you decide to sell her...

You could swap an Acura Legend tranny on your c27.

So a J30a1 isn't a direct replacement. I was hoping it would be. I could have custom mounts made cheaply but I don't want to put the shop through the hassle. I guess my only choice is to look for another c27 and tranny.

What year Legend is a directly replacement?

You could use the info in this link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1235221

or

Find a 86-90 legend tranny and swap it.

Here's a link to the 2nd know guy to swap a 5th gen c series tranny into his ride.

I am not looking to do an auto to manual swap. I'd rather keep my winter beater auto, but thanks for the links. I am just looking for direct swaps to minimize down time as well cost. I was hoping J30a1 would be a direct replacement as I've located one for cheap. Another concern was what trany to use but if I need to stick with a C27, then the tranny point is moot.
