Upcoming Turbo-4 car
I figured I would go ahead and post about it. I am in the process of building a 94 hatch for the turbo-4 class. I am basically waiting for engine components and the roll cage to be completed. It's been tough since i just relocated to the Chicago area, but I hope to come out to the races and meet a lot of the guys in this forum soon. I was out at Joliet last fall with the guys at 4piston racing and it was a blast....so i'm really excited to get out there with my own car this year if everything goes as planned. I also want to thank Stan for helping me out tons lately!

hehe...I'm going with a Darton MID sleeved GSR block. Wiseco Pistons, Manley Rods, Ported ITR head, and most important is the turbo, but i'm not sure what i'm going with yet. Maybe the Gt40, but i may go for a GT35/40R .82AR turbine or maybe PT series. We'll see once everything comes together and I weight all the pros and cons.

Can't weld a cage in when you have headliner in there to catch on fire.

can.
and its going to be nearly impossible to install after the cage is installed! unless the main hoop is a few inches from the roof.. but then it would be absolutely no problem at all welding the cage in with it in!

Thanks a lot for the encouragement guys...I am going slowly to make sure i do everything right the FIRST time around...here are some more pics from a before my lunch break on the car. Fuel system and tranny is getting done hopefully by the end of this week. Also, I opted for using my LS tranny with the only change being to a Quaife LSD...I think this tranny will work best for the MPH and power/weight ratio of my car.

Any chance of being able to run aluminum hard line instead of braided line for the fuel feed? You'll save 50% on the line itself, and I don't see you having to use a lot more of it to make it from the back to front, and the fittings will be cheaper too.
