Minimal Drop For An Integra?
My wife is going to be driving my Integra and I want to put some new shocks and springs on that are a good price and with a minimal drop that still looks agressive. I was looking at H & R OE Sport Springs but what else is out there that will create a smooth ride besides stock?
I hate stuff like this because you are asking the impossible. Your goals are
1) spend a minimum amount of money
2) keep a smooth ride
3) a minimal drop that still looks agressive
I recommend that you pick any two goals and then I can give you an answer
If you want cheap(1) and smooth(2) then leave it on stock springs and get some new oem replacement shocks
If you want smooth(2) and a minimal drop(3) then go with Koni Sports from Neuspeed (which have extra spring perch slots), stock springs and put the Koni perches one notch down (about 1/2" drop)
If you want cheap(1) and a minimal drop(3) get a welding shop to cut your springs down.
If you want all three then you need to learn this phrase "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride"

alan

tein s-techs have a minimal drop and are very comfortable. Had these baby's on daily driver (96 coupe) along with tokico blues, they were very compatible with one another. The results were smooth sailing
The Tein SS are good but if he wants minimal and wifey is going to be driving it.. I would go for the Tein basic coilovers. But then I would advise to do the cambers.

the tokico spring/strut kits are nice.. ive talked to a few people who have this setup on DA's as i planned on doing it.. they said that compared to stock springs/worn struts its alot better ride, but one of them went from new strut/springs (oem) to them and they said its a little harder
its a 1inch drop all around, the kit with the illuminas ive heard is ALOT better ride than stock
only reason i got away from getting that setup is i found me some brand new ground controls and tokico blues for $350 shipped.. ($10 cheaper than the tokico spring/strut i found cheapest) and eibach springs are better (but alot more costly unless u get a deal)

You definatly don't want something with "sport" in the title if you want a minimal drop. Usually those are a more aggressive drop... Good luck though. Just get some omni full coilovers. They work great. Good price too. Plus they are all over the sponsor section.

no not really because i have them. they drop 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the back, it's a conservative drop. i don't really scrape anywhere accept sometimes backing out of my steep *** driveway.

Well the Tokico Illumina shock/spring combos run what, like $450? And then the Tokico HP sets are about $350. Only difference is the adjustability, both lower the car 1.75 inches they say. Will she even need the adjustability?
