Got my first car-- 99 Integra LS
Hey guys I am 16 years old and have always had a thing for cars. I been working on them since I was 13 and recently I have been looking for a reliable car and I found my 1999 Acura Integra LS w/ 72,000 miles in Tafetta White. It was a Florida car which I got on eBay and got it delievered by EZHauling to NY.
The car was in perfect shape everythings in great working order, no leaks, records of service. PLEASE DON'T FLAME ME ON WHAT IM ABOUT TO SAY
I got a Auto because I think its better for me to learn to drive well than having to worry about shifting once I get more practice I will get a Manual.
I worked my *** off since I was 14 to get it by selling things on eBay I no longer used, cutting grass, working at my dads bakery making donuts and at a dinner theater. I finally had a little over $8500 bucks and it cost me $7500 I drive it around already and its great.
I already got some touch up paint and fixed up some rock chips and got a AEM Short Ram intake. I have my car in my garage because I am installing Ravelco security and 2 kill switches.
I will snap some pics soon.
Thanks

Congrats on the first car
It sounds like you really worked hard to get it. And the automatic things not such a big deal if you're just learning to drive. Eventually you probably will want a manual transmission, but you could always do a manual transmission swap if you don't want to trade the car in for a different one.

Yeah I worked hard for it. I also thought about doing a tranny swap later on. I needa go finish my kill switch install and do a oil change to Mobil 1 5w-130 Extended Performance.
man its great to hear how hard you worked for it, you earned it, and if you want auto ill be damned if you shouldnt have it. great job, good choice, have fun and be safe.
Thanks guys for the comments! Im glad I got an Integra and so far I am very happy with it. My parents always said they would NEVER pay for my car, if I want it I need to work for it and I did it.
PS: What is a good all season tire for my integra?
Thanks

I am considering Falken ZIEX 512's or Kumho ASX. The thing I hear about Falken is there sidewalls are very soft and if you hit a pot hole just right you will bubble them instantly.
I would suggest looking into Yokohama's. Falk's are nice, but have somewhat of a price-tag. Yoko's I have always been a little bias to, but they are a little cheaper and just as good in my opinion.
Congrats on the purchase
I would also consider not getting all-season tires. Instead, have two sets. One, being your summer/performance set, and the other for snow. This will allow you to perform better in a rain/dry or snow setting.

Im glad to see that you worked hard for what you have instead of just getting it handed it to you. That teaches great care, responsibility, and appreciation.
Learning a manual is not that hard, and Im sure you would have done just fine with some practice in regards to being nervous with shifting while doing the driving basics.
Anyways, post up some pics!!

Congrats! Now go buy a security system! I had my first teg for 21 days before it got jacked despite a $400 DEI alarm
I'd also look into some other defenses such as fuel cut switch, relocating hood release cable, etc. Wouldn't want you to lose the car like I did.

a real good first car to have, my first integra was auto too, but after a year, i got another one, and it was 5sp, its awsome. just take good care of it, and it will last forver...
, great to hear you worked hard for the car. But any reason why its an LS? Do you have any plans for the car? like turbocharging it, etc?
Congrats on the purchase. I recently got my 01 GS a few monthes ago for my first car and it's auto too so don't feel bad. Although right now I wish I would have got a manual, but it's not like this is the only car i'm gonna have. Just enjoy it and have fun modding.
Congrat and good job on the purchase, working the butt off to get a decent car at 16 is an accomplishment. Now is the time to learn the maintanence and enjoy it.
Auto is good for first car being 16 and esp with integra as daily driver, less auto are stolen than stick. Still, do the best on security with club, alarm, kill switches, back up battery that is hidden, etc, will deter thieves.
Also, try to keep it stock will reduce the chance of getting attention. If you want long lasting tires I heard good things on both Yokohama Avid H4/V4 and Falken Ziex 512, since you are in NY you probably want something that works well in snow as well, don't get summer tires.

Congrats man....It is good you worked for it, you will appreciate it more. I bought my first car at 18 and it was a 95 auto special Edition. Then 1.5 years later i bought my 98 gsr. Learn to drive well with your auto, then look into a 5spd. I have the Ziex 512's on my gsr and they are good, i like them.
