Default Another D series all-motor 230BHP graph

Not actually 230bhp, but 229,9bhp
This is our another “D17” sohc vtec all motor graph. No offense, no show off , just sharring good information to another “D SERIES LOVERS”.
The “230hp” graph was flywheel horsepower, and the Whell HP was "205 whp".. it is through 2,5 inch muffler since the dyno shop not allowed any open exhaust car… I think those 2,5inch muffler eating 2-4 hp from this motor.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....x.jpg
sorry pict too big
It was 216bhp on the first run (carbs run very rich 10,2:1 afr).. after we tune it to 12,5:1 to 13:1 afr range , releasing the alternator belt and retarding the cam gear 2 degree it goes 229,9bhp. After those final number we’re planning to retarding the gear for about 1/2 degree more, but the carburetor to intake mani gasket broke that was the end of our dyno day. Hope it still climbing because we’re plan to raising the CR to 15,5:1 or 16:1 and playing some more carb and camshaft tuning next month.
Oh yah , this motor using benzol (green aviation gasoline 115 octane)

The block setup was a bit same as the another d17 nonvtec before, this new sohc vtec complete setup was :
-Closed deck D16A6 (darton style)
-Mitsh. Gallant v6 oversized 50 piston (78,9mm)
-Scat rod
-knife edging crank
- SOHC Vtec head PnP
-JG oversized 1mm valves
-Isky valvetrain
-14,5:1 CR
-Gude Pro sohc vtec camshaft (250ish @.50 duration)
-twin weber 48mm
-Bisimoto header

by comparing the graph with the older another car setup before wich using SOHC non vtec RS-338 and twin 50mm weber , I realized that the older car setup was way toooooo much over cammed and using too big carbs that was twin 50mm weber.. here it is the older another car graph :
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1118959

the older sohc non vtec car run constanly high 12 to low 13.. hope this sohc vtec could run at least 0,2-03 faster with a fatter graph.. some say that the DASTEK dynamometer was inflated number , but as he said : <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jetpilot &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">here in Venezuela we also have dastek dynos and they do read infalted numbers but we dont care, peoples mouths are shut at the strip.</TD></TR></TABLE>

fiva d series
and for the D series haters : May God Bless You All… Amen…

good to see you guys still making progress with the D
couple questions...
how much weigh was removed from the crank??
did you guys flow the cylinder head on a bench prior to building the engine??
what do you guys run for a crank pulley & flywheel??
how high are you revving this engine??
what size venturis are you running in the carbs??

thanks again for sharing and good job!!

on the new honda tuning magazine, they did a H22 motor with 11:5.1 cp pistons, crower stage 3 cams, and other stuff that i cant remember and they had like, 168hp(not sure if it was to the wheels or not) but that had a DC 4-2-1 header on when they dynoed. Then, they put on this nasty 4-1 header with a 3inch collector.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jt-sport &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">it is through 2,5 inch muffler since the dyno shop not allowed any open exhaust car… I think those 2,5inch muffler eating 2-4 hp from this motor.
[/i]</TD></TR></TABLE>

3-4 horsepower?? no, this h22 made 30 more horse power(198hp) by switching to that 4-1 header!!! even more impressed by this d series, very nice numbers imagine if you had THAT header...

thanks a lot donF, you always right on chooke selection (my itr with pro2 was running wild when u suggested me to run 46mm chooke)

but this motor got some bad news, the sleeves was cracked in in the past 4 race, thats why this car never run well, there always a lot of spot on full throttle condition ,the best time only 13.3 : (
i hope this week end it will go right with new sleeves (non closed deck, just re-sleeved with thicker liner)
