I never got to share my car here :*(... 56k beware (long story)
well I've been lurking this board for a while and (came over from T-I.net)... unfortunatly never got to share my '00 GSR before I wrecked it so here it... was.

and here's what happens when you oversteer avoiding an oncoming truck at 70mph (like to blame the type-r sway... but can't say it wasn't my fault):



heres my dilema... I bought an '03 GTI 1.8t and owe my parents $6000 for it. Its a nice car but I miss being part of the Honda family, and I just can't feel right driving a VW around, I mean its got potential but only with bigger turbo, FMIC ect. So I'm considering selling it, giving my parents the $6k then buying a 96-00 Civic EX coupe, or DX hatch or another teg. I've always wanted to do a Civic, plans include a b18c1 or c5, suspension, my c10's ext. basically the same **** as my teg had but a civic. I miss my teg so much, and hopefully I'll be back in the Honda family soon enough. Heres the GTI (mods so far= CAI, forge bypass valve, and boost gauge, plan on selling it for $14k ish, paid $15.5k after tax around 4 weeks ago.)

Should I go for a EX coupe or hatch... I can't decide maybe I should just keep my options open. I mean I've been into integra's for a long time and know honda motors, but not a lot about different chasis. I'm leaning more toward a coupe so I still have power locks/windows/mirrors/moonroof and all, but I've always loved a nice hatch(they're only like 200-300lbs lighter, right?)... any help or advice would be great!

Oh man, sorry about your Integra. I wouldn't modify the car anymore, it just too much to hassle. Soon I be selling all 3 of my cars for 30k plus and pick up 2005 Collora XRS and new GSXR 1000. I am done with modifying car now.

well that turn is 15 mph. The rest is 40 or 35 or something. I'd ran that area so many times, theres never cops out there, and hardly ever traffic... or so I thought. I definatly learned my lesson though as you all can imagine, I'm saving it for the track from now on.

Forget the Honda's and the VW's go for a Mustang or something similar. I'm kind of tired of Honda's personally I mean I like them and for going around town they are good but they arn't really that fast and even after putting several thousand into them they still arn't that fast. I like Honda's for DD's but for fast and modifying I think you would be better off with something like a Mustang or older Camaro. I may go that route next time.

...your joking right... thats the first time I've ever heard that from someone on a honda board. I dunno I think I'd never drive a Ford. I mean yeah... they're not as fast as a built v8... but thats... a... ford?

Seems like you can get a Mustang or similar a lot cheaper and build it cheaper and have it a lot faster. I know I will get bashed for this since it is a Honda board but I'm just not liking the lack of power with Honda's. Even a lot of the fast ones with a lot of money dumped into them don't compare with the stang's or LS1 Camaro's. I just find it sad that my lifted Ram with mud tires on it is as fast as my car if not faster and it doesn't have anything other than an exhaust on it. Now I don't really mind my Honda for daily driving and I will keep it for that but other than that as a performance car it just isn't that great and all the money it would cost to mod it I could just put in to something else that has some potential.

... maybe because you drive an accord ex. My GSR was hella faster than any trucks that tried to run me (except a srt10 =P). Have you driven anything B-series with vtec? Much better than F series. The gti has loads more bottom end, but power stops after 4k it feels... I'd rather it be the other way around like my gsr was.

Seriously I have a friend with a built 440 in a dump truck and I have never seen a Honda that has been able to take it and it is a dump truck. I just like the being able to be in 2nd gear and floor it and still smoke the tires easily. I just haven't found a Honda that can easily do that. They arnt the slowest thing on the road they just arn't as fast as a lot of the american cars. Too bad other than the engines most of the American cars are crap.
I'm not denying that your GSR would take my truck. I hope it would anyway as a lifted truck is not built to be fast. I'm just saying it is faster than a lot of the Civics and Accords and similar without major modifications.

after working on a friends VW, i dont think i could bare to look at another one again.
they're a huge pain in the *** and are HELLA complicated.
