Default I need alternator for...

Hi. The car is a 1989 Prelude Si 5-MT Red/Black with 150k miles. However the car is currently incapacitated :S
My main goal get it rolling

the main problem is the alternator. Seller had to jump and keep the car jumped to get it started and going. As soon as he removed the jumpers the car died. So I am assuming the alternator needs replaced. I would like to get one out of a junkyard. I need to know what cars I can safely cannibalize an alternator from. I really would like to know what alternators I can rip from what. Would civics work?

Just go to Autozone and get a replacement alternator. Some of them have a good warranty, so if it dies within a year or so you can get it replaced for free (some have lifetime, but cost a lot to buy).

I just bought an '89 Prelude Si, and have to work on it as well (steering/suspension). Good luck with yours!
