Vtec killer cams on a 01' euro-R h22 engine.
Hey buds.
Anyways, some of you might have seen my blue jdm accord SiR-T on the appearance forums.
but anyways. I have a 01' Full Euro-R h22a 220hp engine, gearbox everything.
and as of this moment, I'm planning to sell off the whole euro-R head..with cams..retainer..valve springs etc
and getting a whole h22 ported and polished head with vtec killer cams and valve springs..retainers etc, and then fine tuning it with e-manage.
now my question is..has there been anyone who has done something similar like this and did a dyno?..and what is a good revlimit you guys set it to?
Any additional info regarding this project would be good too!
thanks guys.
Eric

i'd say around $1100-1200usd!
i don't know if that is expensive or not over there in the states.
come'on no one?..I'm either modding the head or getting a JWM ITB.
any info on the ITB's...dyno's etc will be good too.

yes, it is. you can get a whole jdm h22 for that price over here. or you could port and polish the life out of your own h22 head with new valvetrain for that much.
and why vtec-killer cams? don't like vtec anymore?
seriously. you've got a euro-r. why not just keep it? sir-t models are rare, so if you want to do this, then keep all your original euro-r parts and just pick up a spare head and IM and TB. taht way, when you figure out it sucks below 6000 rpm, you can switch back and sell the other parts.

Who said anything about a street car?
The only time it'll be streeting is from the house to the track really.
And I am in middle of doing this whole research thing, whether to go for the normal Stage 2-3 cams with stock idle or go for a vtec killer for the same price, so reason I asked about vtec killer cams is I wanted to see from people who has experienced them on H22 and see their feedback on power improvement, and driving differences, pros and cons etc.
And really, I know my low end is going to be shat, but this is like hearing about how 4-1's will lose heaps of low end comapred to 4-2-1's and most that say it are the ones that never tried both.(well i tried..
) So I really wanted to hear from someone that has acctually done it on a H22 before.
But after getting a lack of info, I think I'll have to end up with a JWM ITB which is most likely on the list now...feedbacks? and work on the head when it starts blowing out smoke...oneday.

WTF!!!
Revision: Does the euro r h22 make better hp and torque than any other engine. Is the engine rare?

dude......if you can get custom cams ground big enough, there is no reason for vtec killers.....its just stupid....
why take away something that lets you optimize your motor at a wider range of rpm.....
and e-manage.....poop.....there will be no "fine-tuning" with e-manage.....get a real ems....

indeed its pretty bad ***... you should buy mine
indeed its pretty bad ***... you should buy mine
one thing you guys have to realise is i ain't in the states, parts/tuning/ems are extremely limited, so everything I can do has to be pretty much from japan. since the ems's here don't have any options for my ride.
so e-manage is my best option.
I've had this stock euro-r motor for quite sometime, thought i'd start playing with the head, vtec killer is out of the question at the mo, most liekly ending up with jun stage 2R's.
