well I've been lurking this board for a while and (came over from T-I.net)... unfortunatly never got to share my '00 GSR before I wrecked it so here it... was.

heres my dilema... I bought an '03 GTI 1.8t and owe my parents $6000 for it. Its a nice car but I miss being part of the Honda family, and I just can't feel right driving a VW around, I mean its got potential but only with bigger turbo, FMIC ect. So I'm considering selling it, giving my parents the $6k then buying a 96-00 Civic EX coupe, or DX hatch or another teg. I've always wanted to do a Civic, plans include a b18c1 or c5, suspension, my c10's ext. basically the same **** as my teg had but a civic. I miss my teg so much, and hopefully I'll be back in the Honda family soon enough. Heres the GTI (mods so far= CAI, forge bypass valve, and boost gauge, plan on selling it for $14k ish, paid $15.5k after tax around 4 weeks ago.)

 

oh and it'll be nice to not have car payments. I paid my teg off like 3 days before I wrecked it.

Get another Teg... I'd take an Integra over a Civic any day of the week.

Nicer interior, nicer dashboard, nicer headlights (easier to retrofit HID projectors), etc.

 

man I'd take a GTI over my teg any day, those things are just so damn clean looking. I'll trade ya my 95 LS-T + $$$ =P.

around 60-70ish it was a long right turn and I had the suspension pretty much at its max, as I jerked to avoid the truck (couldn't see him) the back slid out...

yeah but I hate payments... I have another 1.5 years of payments if I keep the gti, in that time I won't be able to get much done to the car... so I wanna get something for around 5-6g's and swap a ITR motor into it or something of that manner.

 

Dude I would keep the Volkswagen and get a BIGO turbo for it.

man, im sorry you crashed your teggy. I dunno what ID do in your shoes, probably since you dont owe much on the gti Id just pay it off.. If you sell it for 14k you owe your parents 6k, so that leaves 8k to buy a new car, and swap the motor... Thats not gonna be very easy to do. If you wont be able to do upgrades to your gti due to lack of money, youre not going to be able to with the new car either.

 

Everyones worried about picking fun... You ok? That looks like it was a pretty bad accident.

but you have to be in my situation. I make around $1200 a month so instead of paying 400 a month as I am for the GTI plus insurance which is $225 a month. I'd be making no payments and little insurance for a civic. That way all the money I make go go straight to parts. If I can get a ex or hatch for $5k that leaves me cash for suspension enough for some jdm goodies, then the rest towards a motor. It'll take me no time to get a motor with out car payments. Everything for GTI's is so expensive it will take so long to get things done plus making payments. Plus like I said, I miss my teg and really want something more similar.
