Default coilover sleeves? will it work?

Don't knock on me, but, i'm thinking about doing the cheap coilover sleeves on my '88 4dr accord will the coilover sleeves from a '90-93 accord or later work on my car? how different are they? can i just bore out the top plate to accomodate for the stock strut. or do something else(welding or whatever) I am very good at fab work, so if there's a way, i'll make them work. Thanks.

if your good at fab work than hell you could do all kinds of mods to things

i think if it wasnt a design feature that was different it would be that 90-93 doesnt hold the same mount of weigth per spring to accomodate for the weight of the 88

correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the 90-93 accords heavier than your 88? The parts may be the same (mounting wise), but I can almost garantee that the spring rates will be different. The sleeves for the 90-93 may say "0-3 inch lowering," but putting them on a lighter car will probably net about 2-2.5" down (ride height may differ, these are just examples).

Personally, I wouldn't get coilover sleeves unless you get them for your model car, and you get matching dampeners as well (i.e. new struts made for lowered cars). The ride quality will go from stiff to harsh in like 3 hours, then go from harsh to sh*tty in like a week if you keep your stock struts (yeah, I know from experience).

ok, thanks, i was wondering if the only thing different was the weight issue, i was just wanting to know if i was going to have to like totally redo the back end of the car to make some $50 springs work (not worth it to me) i'd rather spend quality fab time on one of my 4WD rigs this accord is just gonna be a commuter with a little bit of "attitude" I CAN'T STAND STOCK CARS OR TRUCKS!!!!! ARGH!!! lol
