Default h22 front motor mount, how vital? 4th gen

Ok, my turbo has forced me to remove my front motor mount. How vital is this one mount? I have seen hatches run with out since they dont have a way to mount it to anything. But I am just curious if any 4th gen has removed it?

civics use much stronger mounts than the stock preludes one have. hasports use 70mm and i think 80mms urethane mounts which provide enough shock absorbtion to not allow the motor to flex like it does in a prelude with no front mount. i made a custom tube frame mount for mine a few yrs back. i dont recommend running without the front mount... simply rev the engine at idle and youll be shocked at how much it flexes.

yeah, u cant rely on the other 3 mounts, because only one of them is actually a torque mount, the two side mounts hardly provide any support against the engine twisting.

make a solid rear mount and you should be fine. just add it to your list of items to check up on every time you change your oil.

its not like the engine will come flying out of the car when you hit Veee TAAAAKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!! y0

I once ran on three mounts to be able to run the Prospeed Header.

Withing a couple months, one of the stock motor mounts went bad.

well, the entire mount has to come out for everything to fit right. The oil drain for the turbo also lands right smack dab on it.
So, get a solid rear mount? and stronger side mounts?
any recommendations? Or should I try to find a different manifold?

If you decide to run w/o the front mount, I would get es motor mount inserts
for the other 3 mounts.

Any one else running the moroso oil pan? I think that is causing me the most trouble. Because the hole for the line is right there behind the mount. If I put a 45 deg angle on it, I might be able to get around it.. I dont know.. I would hate to get a new manifold over one damn drain line.

me weld?

Yea, I will probably end up taking off the pan and having some one weld a new bung in a not so annoying location.
It just sucks that i worked so hard to have the car ready for this weekend, and stopped by a drain plug location. /sigh
