Default rims vs steel at the track

going to the track wed.

im no rookie here but im wondering what rims i should use...my 16 inch 17lb rims wiht good nittos on them or the stock 14 inch steal rim wiht not so great tires on them maybe 50% tread

will the lighter weight and smaller size over shadow the less traction

which should i go with

what kind of tires exactly are we talking about? Nitto drag radials on the 16s? snow tires on the other one? Need a little more info...

Go with the sticky tires. Drag race or road course, I'd still think the traction would make far more difference than the weight savings. Although I'm not sure about that for drag racing. On a road course, the stickier tires would definitely be more desireable than the lighter rims.

go with the smaller wheels for drag racing, I am sure you are not going to spin all the way down the 1/4.. =~)
