itll make the speedo off if you dont get smaller tires, but itsnot going to make your car slower unless theyre heavier than your old ones.

EDIT: Fixed.

not true, and partly not true.

16's will not make your speedo off. buying the incorrect tire size will make your speedo off.

heavier wheels will make the car slower. larger wheels WILL make your car slower, unless they are lighter than smaller wheels, which they almost never are. if you have two wheels of the exact same weight, one 15", one 18", the 18's will be slower becuase the mass is farther from the center.

is far as what whether to get 15's or 16's, it all depends. 16's will not have that much of a weight difference from 15's. i chose to go 15 because where i live, the road are horrendous and i didn't want to bend a rim. bigger wheels look fancier, however

are 17"s better for highway cruising in comparision to 15"s? i know 17"s suck in the city... heavier mass that is futher from the center = higher amount of momentum (inertia) built up which will take more stopping power ... but how are they on the highway? better fuel milage?

I dont see why theyd be better. Theyre not going to be as smooth, not as nice of a ride.

thanks for the completely worthless post.

I can't imagine that 17's will give you any noticeable gas milage gain. if you want better gas milage, just add some psi to your 15's.

16 is "heavier" than 15 even if they weight the same due to inertia difference, the mass is on the outer edge so it takes more energy to start and more energy to stop.

On the other hand, lower profile tire should have less rolling resistance, but not going to make up the same amount as the higher inertia.

15 for performance and handling
16 for good compromise
17 for show
