91 dx 5spd tranny into 94 auto dx
A friend of mine offered me a 5speed tranny out of a 1991 civic dx. I was wondering if this would fit into my 94 4dr dx auto. I know I would need clutch, flywheel, shift linkage, clutch pedal, clutch cable, shifter and mounting hardware. Am I missing anything on that list??
But the question is will this tranny fit into my car, in respect to driveshafts, motor mounts etc??
and yes my login says 92 accord... but i spun a bearing and the accord is dead
, and it was so much nicer than my civic

AFAIK, you'd have to rig something up. You'd have to get a 88-91 clutch pedal/assembly, the clutch cable & brackets. You'd also have to make your own mounts - 88-91's use very different mount points. As far as I've seen, nobody makes parts for this conversion, nor have I even seen it done. The third blow is that AFAIK all 92+ civics have not-so-minor differences between the auto and manual chassis'.
You could buy three 92+ ex transmissions for the price & time you'd put into making a eg/ek cable-operated. Lastly, the multiple ex trannies would have much better gearing...
