Default Exhaust/cat questions

i just got the Greddy evo2 for my 00 V6, while taking off the old exhaust i F'ed up one of the bolts on the stock cat, should i just swap out the cat with another stock cat or a high flow cat, is it worth it? how much better would a high flow be, and whats a good brand to use?

How much are you looking to spend? A OEM cat converter is probably just as expensive as an after-market high flow cat. I got a magnaflow hi-flow cat converter at http://www.performancepeddler.com I got it for $100 shipped. Just give them a call and they'll find the right one for you...

A stock (OEM) Cat will flow more than enough for what the majority of us need. They ae generally manufactured over-capacity (honeycomb type) and don't become a factor unless you plan to turbo/supercharge your ride. If that's in your future, go with the Magnaflows' (and get the cat/vack system as well. -Nice unit-)

If there's still a question about Cat/Test pipe; give them a call b4 you plink down your coin.

sounds like only the bolt hole on the flange is messed up, just fix it, or replace the flange

I haven't installed my hf magnaflow yet but I got mine on ebay brand new for $56 shipped. Just a thought if you do want to replace it.
