Compression
Hello...i have a fully built h22 using 8:5:1 pistons. I havent gonew turbo yet. Still breaking the engine in. The car has no power at all...complete slug! Wondering if I went too low on the compression or is it fine for turbo. Thanks
i think 8.5 is fine for turbo setup. i personally like higher compression with lower boost. the low compression would explain why you have no power without a turbo yet. break in everything, slap on the turbo, and let us know how it turns out.
If I could do mine over again.. and I probably will in a year or two... I would have gone to 10:1 compression and boosted it. The theory about saving your engine with lower compression really isnt all that solid. When you lower your CR all you really do is lose an *** load of tq.

Care to explain? I'd be interested to hear why going lower compression isn't necessary, I thought it was a commonly accepted practice.
