Default blown h22.......

Some how i blew my motor not exacty sure how? I was crusing at about 85 for an 1 1/2 hrs and i heard this clang, black smoke shot out my exhaust and my motor died. Its seized and no longer even cranks. My machanic says its most likely due to lack of oil. I had changed my oil 700 miles ago and checked it that day. oil pump falure? Am i gonna be able to rebuild the motor or would i be better to buy a new one?

so it stalled right then and there? how many miles are on it?

i would pop the valve cover and check that timing belt. if that belt is broke, you probably bent/broke valves and other **** in your engine. not to mention you were at around 4250 rpms.

i dont think it would be seized if he broke a timing belt, the crank would be able to move some at least in some direction...you need to figure out whats wrong with it to find out if its worth rebuilding or not, so you should probably drop the oilpan and see if you can see anything, and if not, then pull the head and see if you see anything

No, it wouldent crank or move if the TB was snapped. And you would cause further valve bending by sitting there trying to start it. Pop the valvecover and check it out. Worst case you really mashed the **** out of your valves and have some pistons damage. Or take it to a mechanic and get raped in the pooper.
