1996 Accord EX wiring question
Just yesterday I bought my first car, a well-maintained '96 Accord EX. It still has the original radio, and I noticed that it has a "CD" option on this tape-deck/AM/FM device. Apparently it was a $700 option from Honda when the car came out to have a CD changer in the trunk. I was wondering if the wiring harness in the trunk of all '96 EX's has the proper wires to connect an OEM (or possibly commercial) CD changer, and be able to control it, specifically from the original radio controls.
Also, since I'm new to this car, I was wondering if there are any issues with removing the OEM radio. I've heard that it can cause some issues with the SRS, and "some other" electronic components, so if anyone can sort out fact from rumor it would be great. My tape deck won't even accept my CD walkman's cassette adapter. I must have my CD's to listen to!
