why not run a fuel sump off the stock tank and use only the paxton with new lines?

I made this exact set-up for my race car, except they were the external style Walbro 255 high-pressure pumps. They have the same pump internals as the in-tank models. The two pumps, at 50 psi, through a single -6 AN line, flowed enough fuel to support 1050HP at 13.2 VDC.

Did you have to sump the tank to run the external pumps? Mind sharing how you did it? Inline or parrallel pumps?

Which class do you plan on competing in? As far as I know, you can run an external pump with a sumped stock tank in Turbo4 and SFWD only states that you can't run a fuel cell, so a sumped tank would work. I'm sure the other T4/SFWD guys would chime in.

Just keep it simple.

I ran full-race sump with external pump and -8an to fuel rail and use the feed for return.

You just weld it. U dont have to cut anything, just dril holes in tank where its going to be welded. Full-Race sump comes with instructions.

You need to make sure that the Paxton is a puller pump if you're not running a sump. I doubt it though. I am running the Bosch Pump, it is a puller pump and I am not running a sump. I made a custom fuel pickup from the stock factory tank cover and I installed the Bosch on the outside of the tank.

We're pushing almost 800 hp with it and still runs fine and I have even made a pass at the track with the fuel light low light on and never leaned out at all.

I helped Jason Hunt with the setup as well on his CRX and now, well...low 9's is in the works... hahhaha, I sure hope so

well i was going to do that, but if you run a tube with a sack on in the tank how are you going to get the fuel up and back down again? will the pump suck enough to pull the gas up and out?

The two pumps in the tank will work for lots of horsepower. I am running 2 285 holly pumps and making plenty of power. The nice thing about this setup it is its not load at all

I used the bosch pump which is a puller pump. Aeromotive, paxton are all pusher pump. It can only push what's collected on the inlet side. Bosch can actually pull it from any source.

We sell the bosch pump for $ 300

I had a fuel cell. The pumps were run parallel and came together with a -6AN Y fitting.

I run twin walbro 255 high pressures intank for my setup with a -6an Y fitting to a single -6an line. Works fine, and i haven't had a problem so far.

let me put it in a different way, would you use your garden hose to feed a fire hydrant hose ? essentially that's what the above scenario is. You're using the smaller pump to drive the bigger pump. It's better to remocve the smaller one and run the bigger one.
