Hey, when I hit Vtec in the Accord I get the power but a shitload of BLACK smoke comes out the back of my exhaust. Does anyone know what this problem is... I have no idea.... what it could be.

Most VTec motors run rich and therefore you get your black smoke.

 

running rich? what does this mean? and how should I go about fixing it?

I have noticed that the spark plugs are coated in a white tip. ummm I looking it up in the Haynes manual.. it says that it could be engine running hot / or pre-ignition.... I changes wires and plugs... still same problem.... the temp in my car NEVER reads hot... this leads me to believe that it is a temp sensor?? So then I ask could this be an all inclusive problem. ??

I just noticed this problem today..... in the rain ine 3,4 and i dono able 5th gear if I rev the engin above 2000 RPM the car gets power fora second and the looses it and will keeep doing that... I'm woundering if anyone has heard of this prob before..... I'm thinking it's just a wire getting wet somwhere. or if I slould be looking for somnthing al little bigger of a problem??

 

Fuel filter, cap, rotor. I would check them as well
