5th gen accord Ca smog question.
Sup guys, I practically got this 5th gen accord for free and it needs smogging soon here in Cali. I noticed the car has DC header, Generic intake with K&N filter and some type of exhaust that I don't know everythign else is basically stock. I'm 99.9 % sure that it'll pass with flying colors seeing as the motor is quiet as a baby and well maintained. Changed spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor and set the timing. I'm just worried that it won't pass visiual cuz of that shiny chrome intake lol. I heard take it to a gas station and they won't notice the difference. How many of you guys passed visiual with a non carb intake like aem? What do you guys think? Or anyone in the bay area who has a spare air box assembly that they wanna sell me i'm willing to take it off your hands or a stock exhaust.
I've never suffered thru a C.A.R.B. (California Air Resourses Board) Emissions test, but if my state is any indication (uses California specs), they couldn't care less how it looked as long as it passed on the Dyno/sniff test. As long as the emissions system is intact (and passes) you'll get your sticker....
just got mine smogged yesterday its an ex 96 .. with aem cai and it passed with flying colors.... i dont think your header or exhust will change much.. i take care of my car tho so yea..
