Default Shipping company?

Does anyone know a good, cheap shipping company that can get a bike from San Diego 92105 to Salt Lake City 84119?

I bought an 04 Honda Reflex 250 (good gas mileage and dirt cheap, don't laugh) and I don't really feel like riding on back roads for 700 miles.

Just search the internet. I have used a few companies to ship car, but never a bike. Why dont you just rent a uhaul for 2 days and pick it up.

I just used Forward Air to ship a motorcycle from Boston, MA to San Diego, CA. I have very mixed feelings about the transaction as a whole. I am currently in the process of an insurance claim because the motorcycle was loaded by a Forward Air employee improperly and was damaged as a result.

However, standard protocol for Forward Air is for the customer to load the bike in which case responsibility would be in your hands.

With regards to their shipping, there was a minor delay, but all in all I rate them well independent of one employee's loading error.

http://www.forwardair.com

I chose them initially because they have motorcycle specific crates and their general procedure is that you load the bike and lock the crate and it doesn't open until you open it at the destination.

I need a shipping company that picks the bike up, I don't have a way of getting it to the company. All the places I've found that do pickups want around $600. I've had cars shipped over seas for $1200, so $600 just seems too much to me for 628 miles.

You should check prices on the load yourself places, then find someone here in SD to load it up for you

Couldn't the guy you bought it off of load it up for you? Doesn't seem like that big of a deal as long as you take care of everything beforehand.
