what should i expect out of my wrecked b16 swapped ef
ok, i have an 88 dx hatch, full si interior, b16\y1 swap. kid ran a red light last night and i slid into the side of him. the front end is demolished. from the strut towers foreward, the front end is pushed over about an inch towards the pass. side. im sure it will be totaled but what can i expect insurance to do, the kid has farmers insurance. would it be better to just yank the motor quick, or try to buy it back, what shouold i get for it for being totaled? any info, this is my first accident and im 26, no idea whats going to happen, any info is appreciated

can i just pull the motor out, or do i have to find something to put back in there? i also want to pull the si intereior out to sell it its all mint. the car was actualy for sell so if i get like 2 grand for the car and then another 1200 or so for the entire swap that would be cool
i had this same prob, i had a 93 del sol si w/ built swap and alot of mods...insurance companies could care less about that stuff...but they will possibly give you half of what you paid for everything if you have receipts...imma take a wild guess and say you will get a check for like 1500-1800 total..sorry

most insurence companies go by kelly blue book...and for that car in mint condition is BARELY $1K

the dirvers mount is actualy twisted so the motor is sitting ****-eyed. i thought it was the core support too, but upon closer inspection its geeked in the whole front. the guy that twas with me, his brothere is an insurance claims adjuster for safeco and said they will def. total it. i just want to yank the motor out.
most insurence companies dont even want the car once they deem it totaled...and i went to the kelly blue book website, and if u got an Si (which i dont think u got) with everything mint...its valued at a little less then $950, so i think ur gonna just pay the deductable, and they will give u wut the car is worth and then u can keep the car
just to clarify, i talked to the adjuster and they dont go by any set price, they will come and look at the car and everything to do with it, like miles, interior, outer paint and things like that. thats what they make their decision on as to how much to give you for the car. you can counter offer them if you think their being too low, but you have to have some research done to show that the price of cars like yours are more expensive than what their trying to give you. so for example, their only going to try to pay me about 900 for my car, but i can get ads and listings for cars like mine and show that their actualy selling for more like 2500 for a bone stock 88dx
