blown engine due to tranny??
Hey, I was wondering if its possible that my 97 prelude engine blew because of my automatic transmission. The tranny was starting to slip so I took it in to get service. After 2 weeks they told me that they still had to replace the solenoids, but I could take it for the week end. Well, 1 day later I was going about 80 on the highway and all of a sudden the engine blew; big crack above the oil pan. The place told me that it was impossoble for it to be due to the transmission, but it seems way too coincidental. If anyone has any advice please let me know. Thanks
its on the left, bottom side of the engine, and its about 1 in long. The place thats installing my new engine told me that if my tranny locked up while I was driving then its most likely the reason for this, but I don't know.

Well for a manual a misshift could blow the engine... Pretty common on the RSX Type-S from what I hear. Thats more human error, but that technically (loosely) relates to a tranny blowing the engine.
