alternator belt broke...car wont start. battery fine
well...last night..i was out driving, and my alternator belt broke. so i was trying to get it somewhere near home..when the car shut off with plenty battery life left! the car will crank, but nothings happening...i have spark in all 4 cylinders, fuel is being delivered..yet it wont start..not even 1 cylinder is firing? what could have gone wrong. it ran w/o a belt for a good minute or so, then it just died...any one have any ideas?
check the battery fuse first.
then check the ecu fuse.
then pull your cap off and see if there's a dizzy problem.

i checked the distributor, everything looks good. i had my friend look at the fuses while i was checking other things, but he;s a domestic guy..ill have to look them over again, my timing belt has signs that somethign was rubbing on it just a little. im hoping that the alternator belt didnt get into the timing belt at the crank and throw it off wack. gonna check the fuses..and if i cant find nothing, its time to check the timing

yup...fixed the problem, im one lucky SOB...the engine is a b16 block, b18 head vortech supercharger...revs freely to 8700...head ported, crower cams valve springs retainers bla bla bla...10:1 compression. so i was kinda worried when this happened..hahaa! the alternator belt went through the timing case cover, and got sucked into the timing belt, the timing belt tore that mo F'er up and it wrapped around the cog, somehow timing jumped about 100 degrees. but luckly, no valve damage
fixed everything up, changed all the belts, she runs fine now
