Default 02 f4i seems to be running hot

I have an 02 f4i and whenever i go out with friends to cruise around the bike seems to run hot unless i go for a longer ride where i dont have to stop alot. It mostly happens when there is a lot of stop n go and keep in mind i am in CA and its like 90 degrees at night. It gets to like 226 and the fans turn on. Does this seem normal for these conditions? What do you suggest i check? Thanks

That seems normal for what I have been seeing out of my bike in 90+ degree, stop and go conditions.

As long as the fans aren't continously running and the temperature still climbing above 230+/-, you should be fine. If the fans aren't running the bike isn't even breaking a sweat.

while i am on the move the bike stays at 200-205 but say i am sitting at a stoplight the bike will go to 226 the fan will turn on.

What part of CA are you from where it gets 90 degrees, Palmdale? Yeah that's normal, i've hit 226 when idling out here in vegas. Of course that's the temp out here anyways.

Normal. My bike ranges from 185* when cruising for a bit and up to 225* when stopped depending on outside temp, length of idle time, and surrounding traffic.

I've also seen big temperature change when I'm not moving.
