Will the EG VX tranny fit into the EF with d15b1 (STD)? I need 5th gear, only having a 4-speed stinks..

It will fit, but its a hydraulic transmission meaning you will to fab up some mounts. No one makes a cable -> hydraulic d-series transmission mounts. They do for B-seires, but not D-series.

if you want 5 gears and more acceleration get an Si transmission
more fuel economy hf/dx transmissions

no it will not because 92+ trannys are hydraulic not cable
you can use the clutch and flywheel

i would suggest getting an si tranny... they are relativly cheap, have 5 short gears, and best of all they are cable ... good luck
