Get a Viper 5000 or a Viper 790xv if you want remote start with it. I suggest getting the Viper 5000 because its a 2-way alarm AND(this is the thing i love about it)...you can adjust the shock sensor from the REMOTE!!! HAHA....DEI...the shizznit....sry if it didn't answer your question, but most likely - no one knows.

Maybe the siren is dead?? Can you activate the panic mode and see what it does??

It makes your alarm go off. If your siren still doesn't sound, but your parking lights flash and horn screams, then the siren must be bad or bad connection/wire.

Not sure about that. It depends on the alarm you have, but all you really have to know is which button on the remote activates the panic mode. Another thing you could do is lock your car (arm it with the remote) and then try open it with a key. The alarm should go off then.

Make sure you don't have a blown fuse for starts... maybe even the alarm has an internal fuse, check it out...

I know it may sound silly, but maybe the battery on the remote is dead?

Your alarm could be on VALET mode.

I think that's just because you don't know what you're doing

Is this a factory alarm or aftermarket? I had all kinds of problems with the alarm that came with my car (non-factory) until I replaced it.

I was gonna say the same thing except you said you armed the alarm and opened the door with the key and the alarm didn't go off. Valet mode only effects the beeping when you lock/unlock the car. When you set the alarm and then opened the door with a key were the lights flashing as if your alarm was going off but just no siren? If that's the case, busted siren. If no lights flashing either, busted alarm.

phils always so mean to me.

i forgot to add, sometimes i'll drive and my alarm light will be on (now the blue light stays ON when my cars off, doesn't blink like it used to this started when the alarm stopped beeping) and the alarm will go off out of nowhere. scares the **** out of me

Wrong. Valet mode disables the alarm and remote start (if you have one) and only lets you open or close your doors.

I don't know if it's busted or not, it could be simply in valet mode. Find out what alarm you have and find a manual on the net for it. Maybe you don't even have a valet mode, who knows??
