I have just had a major service and the top end sounds noisy to me. I know that it wasnt quiet before and there seems to be nothing wrong with the performance anywhere but do you think it is just normal valvetrain noise as there is bugger all soundproofing etc?

get a stethescope (sp) valve noise (loose) is better than tight. You MAY be able to isolate the noise to the injectors.
