Where to get your transmission cleaned up at and how?
I bought a used tranny, it's all dirty, but it's rebuilt. I want it to be all cleaned up like new. Is what im thinking of called "hot tanking" or is there somthing different. what kind of shops cleans up transmission, I don't need any work done to it, just want all the gunk removed, and have it nice a shiney so its easier to work with and looks good for shows
pressure washer + engine cleaner. you can't hot tank it unless you are goingto take it all apart. alot of these bling engine blocks and trannys you see pics of were painted once they were cleaned.
ya I have a pressure washer, but I was worried it would tear somthing up, but I guess there is no seals I have to worry about or electrical wires getting cut from the intense spray of the pressure washer?
I'm pretty new to hondas but arn't the tranny cases aluminum?
be careful what you use dont want to clean it with the wrong thing
i agree use a pressure washer and engine cleaner careful with solvents they eat seals and aluminum

pressure washer and a good cleaner is the first step..
a soft stainless wire wheel and some mothers polish if you want it to look new again. It fill take you a good part of the day to do a tranny.
