Default Fuel Pressure... LEAK? or is this normal?

Okay here is what I have.

-Inline fuel filter
-Benen Fuel Rail
-Stock FPR
-Edelbrock VictorX IM
-RC 310 Injectors
-Random Fuel Pressure Guage at end of fuel rail

I just replaced my o-rings today and put it all back together, before I had bad leaks at the o-rings on top of the injectors. When i put it back together i found out the left and the right holes on the intake manifold for the studs that keep the fuel rail on were stripped out, but the middle was not. i still put it togetehr just to see if it would hold correct pressure.

I turn the key to ON and i get 40psi then it drops to about 30psi and stays there.
could it be because i only have the one stud/nut holding the fuel rail on? or is it normal for it to drop to 30psi with larger injectors? or could i have a leak somewhere else??

Thanks In Advance - Nick.

It's normal for the pressure to drop somewhat after the fuel pump kicks off. After the pump kicks off it's just fuel standing in the line. Once you start it, it'll go back up.

The car wasn't started right? If it wasn't then you're fine.

someone has to know why its doing this.

if i use a timing gun, and the timing is perfect, i give it ANY gas and it dies out right away.
(timed right = dizzy all the way at the front of car)

but if i time it where the dizzy is all the way at the back towards the firewall, the car will run, i can rev it, but when i drive it around, it bogs down, backfires sometimes, runs like complete ****.

If you have your distributor adjusted all the forward or backward, then timing maybe off. Check you TDC again.
