I'm trying to replace the steering column (some punkass theif sheered my steering shaft) in my 89 CRX Si so I got an 89 civic steering column cause I heard they were interchangable... when I lined up the steering shafts side by side, the civic one was about half an inch shorter. I decided to try anyways, and took the steering shaft out of the civic steering column and put it in the crx one. Sure enough, I ended up about half an inch off from where the mount holes are for the column... am I missing something here?
I didn't use the civic steering column because I didn't want to mess with moving over the ignition, but will it work if i use that one instead... I don't see how it would since the shaft itself would still be half an inch off. Anyone???
