Default 2001-2005 Civic LX owners, I Have a header question

My mother just bought my brother a 2005 LX Civic. He just recieved the AEM V2 Intake i purchased for him. id like to order a DC header for him now. I know nothing about his car as im in kuwait and he is in Phoenix.

DC doesnt make a header for the LX, but has many for the EX. i know on the 2000 D16Y7 the cat was integrated with the header, does this hold true for this D17 he has? What header are any of you people using? i know the ex header will bol to the block its the rest im worried about. pointers and tips , y0 i heard, i think, it should

I'm also assuming this motor has no VTEC right? only 115 HP, or is it a VTEC-E?

The VP/LX has a manicat. There are lots of way around it.... if you're in an emissions state, you'll find some more issues. The easiest way is to just do an EX exhaust conversion.... buy an EX Downpipe and cat, and get an EX catback. Alternatively you can get a header and have an exhaust shop make a downpipe and put a cat in. If you're in a non-emissions state, hell with it, just put the header on and get the exhaust shop to make you a test pipe.

A few companies make an Lx/Dx replacement header that does away with the cat and bolts right on without any Ex stuff or further modification. One of them is Kamikaze...might be another but I can't remember.

Of course you'll throw a CEL, but an O2 sensor fooler will take care of that.

just because ive taken my echaust apart on my 02 civic lx (it is a 4dr) i can say teh cat is separte from the header. (dont know many of the terms but here goes my description of the exhaust) the header is bolte donto a long exhaust pipe that is welded to the cat. those 2 bolts are coming off of a slight curve leading up towards the header, about halfway down the block. the catback is then also bolted on with 2 bolts to the catback. if u want pics, let me know, i'll take some and send them to some1 willing to host them for me.

//EDIT
No the LX is the same as the DX motor, D17A1, no vtec or vtec-e, the EX comes with the D17A2 127 hp vtec(-e i believe)
