Help sanding my front and rear bumper?
im going to sand my whole car and repaint it a whole different color.
as of now the stock color is gray. it look kinda black to most people. they dont believe me and think im color blind. etc..blah blah. anyways.
im going to go with a green metallic paint.
how should i prep my front bumper? grits #? i dont want to ruin my bumpers.
heres my step by step.
wash the car.
sand the whole car down.
wash and clean again.
prime.
base coat
clear
base coat
clear.
would that be good enough for a decent result.
any advice and tip from all u expert would be nice... again this is a DIY paint job.
oh yeah one more thing what is the best way to setup my air compressor? psi? my paint gun etc.????

Why the heck would you do base coat then clear then a base coat on top of that?
Also I think it would be good to sand the primer down afterwards as well.
Honestly dude, leave it to the professionals if you dont know how. If you want to be the cool kid on the street and paint it yourself though then I recommend you actually SEARCH and READ through all the articles on the net before trying it. Nothing is worst than having to redo it because you screwed up.

plus here in appearance/ cosmetic is pretty much show off ur car or post pic on how or what look good or not. well thats what my view.
overall hey not everyone are good painter or autobody expert but u gotta start somewhere to find infos, help, tips advice somewhere or maybe even from trial and error .
thats all.

Wash the it thoroughly with soap and water and let dry (completly)
scuff with 400 grit using a long block
wash it again with soap and water
primer it
spray guide coat on it
wetsand with 4-600 grit and make sure all the guide coat is gone and its smooth as glass
clean with soap and water let it dry
use a tack rag and wipe the whole thing down
spray basecoat then wait for flash time and spray another coat
let dry
clear coat it wait for flash time then coat it again
let dry
then cut and buff and make it smooth as glass
