Fuel Cells.... what to look for?
currently in the market for a fuel cell. what else should i be looking for beside the dimensions? are there any pro's and con's of a plastic one over an alumium one besides looks? i'm going be to be using it in a street car mounted in the front if that matters
also for everyday street use would it be advised that i use a circle track style cell (inlets/outlets on top) or a drag style cell (inlets/outlets) on the bottom....

I'd say a drag style, since accelerating/braking of daily driving would slosh the fuel around, might miss the pickup.
BTW, good luck driving long distance with a small fuel cell. Haha!

haha, thanks, but no need to worry, it's not for a honda, it's a small lil fiat i'm bulding, and even if i wanted to, i don't think it's gonna be capable of going anywhere far, daily as in i can drive to the drive-thru daily for dinner, hehe

If your worried about it sloshing around looking for a fuel cell with spong inside of it. Theres not really and big difference i see between aluminum and plastic tanks except for looks, they both would be strong.

Hes got a good point, however... if there was fire close enough to the tank to melt it.... itll be close enough to heat the gas up too get it to boil... and itll jus ignite that way anyways, except that way itll probably blow the alum tank apart. Fire dept skills being applied to racing! WHOO!
That is why you have metal fuel lines. If anything happens it vents it out somewhere else (hopefully where the fire is not). Besides, if anything you would just get a flame shoot out the venting area. Most gas tanks never explode like the movies.
My vote is for the aluminum one because the plastic fuel cells use bulk head fittings for the AN fittings with the plastic sealing washers that tend to leak, well not really leak but they tend to start to show alittle residue around the fittings after time.
Anyone have experience with these? I have heard that you can smell raw gas all the time...I'd really like to go with a cell, but I don't want to deal with the smell if I'm going to be dailying it

Ya I have, if you have a trunk than it probably won't be that bad but I had one in my crx and I would have some killer headaches but after awhile I got use to it, but there is no real advantage to using one I would just sump your stock tank.
