help!!!!
my 89 hatch just got a b16a motor installed this summer, and i have had no problems until now. today when i was driving i heard a strange metal on metal contact sound when i went over bumps. i stopped to see what it was, and it was my crank pulley hitting and rubbing on a suspension piece. could this be due to the angle my supsension is set at with my lowering springs? would different springs help? thanks, any help would be great!
i have some neuspeed springs on my car. i am not certain which springs they are, they came on my car when i bought it. the arm connects to the front crossmember.
yeah thats the radius rod you are talking about..... it connects between the X-member and the lower control arm.
i had this same exact problem back when i was still using Place Racing mounts. the mounts only lasted about 3 months and then i started hearing that same noise as you... turns out the mounts were actually DISENTIGRATING as i drove the car!
my radius rod now has a nice notch in it from the abuse, and i had to replace my crank pulley as well because of the contact that was resulting...
oh and i had to replace the mounts for HASport mounts as well.....
i suggest you try to fix this problem ASAP
