Default Looking for races in Seattle area..

Hey guys, I live in Olympia and have some friends up here from another country who would love to check out some good old-fashioned American street racing in the Seattle/area...if anybody could email me with any details of anything going on the next few days, I'd appreciate it. Not looking to race, just watch. Thanks

Street racing is illegal and not condoned in the competition forum. We prefer to race legally at the track whether that be drag, autocross or road racing.

I wholeheartedly agree...I had never posted here before, I figured this would be the best place though. I believe; however, that there is an inherent rawness and certain excitement to street racing that will get anybody's blood pumping. It was the original street racers who paved the way for organized racing and auto-x and for that, I will always have a certain respect for street racing. Thanks.

I recommend strongly that you not post anything else here regarding street racing, unless it's to say you don't condone it or participate in it.

The Kills forum is where you really need to be.

Is this the friggen' mafia? I was under the impression that for general racing queries, this was the place to go. I'm sorry I was wrong.

Sorry to burst your history bubble... but the 'original' street racers in no way paved the way for autoX'ing and road racing. The original street racers paved the way (?) for NHRA, SCTA, and the hot rod scene in general - however, they did this by means much further than just racing on friday nights. It involved custom car shows (know about George Barris?), involvement with manufacturers (all the fins and chrome on cars from the '50's were a result of this) and magazines and hot rod shops - and it was definately not a popular culture thing.

No this isnt the mafia, we're just expressing the fact that street racing is about the dumbest thing you can do in a car. If you dont think so, go read this and maybe you will wise up... http://news.lycos.com/news/story.asp...b_tag=APONLINE

listen, I do not condone streetracing. I know that streetracing is a no-no...I know too many people that have had horrible accidents and even died streetracing. I'm trying to show these guys one aspect of our culture...these guys know that those who race don't necessarily represent all of us. it's an experience. when you go to other countries, you observe/participate in their customs. welcome to america.

Why would you want to show your foreign friends what some of our dumbest and most immature citizens do for fun??? Take your friends and show them the positive aspects of our "culture", not the negative ones.
