Default JDM B18c Type R

I am putting a JDM b18c Type R into my 96 integra LS. I want to know that kind of times i should expect from an average driver and want to know if i would be able to beat my buddy in his 04 GTI VR6 (200Hp 200Tq) And any suggestions on modifications would be helpfull, i was just going to do I, H, E and a chip? what gains should i expect from those mods?

Please search. Look for the 1/4 mile time thread. Someone in there im sure has run this before. Figure mid/low 13's with a good driver.

I say high 13's, low 14's, depending on with ITR motor you get.

My advice: Get the '98+ Spec. It has a better tranny and better factory header.

Its a 2000 JDM Type R engine (210 Hp and 135 Tq) I was guessing low 14s high 13s, but i am no expert.

3. Guess my HP/1/4 mile threads.....

will be deleted. We aren't here to guess...take it to a dyno or track. I let it go for a while but its taking away from the technical side of the forum

with an AEM CAI itr spec
a good smsp dtr fab, anr header
free flowing 2 1/2 inch exhaust
and a Vafc you should hit around 175whp IF your lucky
and depending on how gutted your teg is, with a good driver, low 14's POSSIBLE high 13's

175whp seems a bit low, i would say a good i/h/e will net you 180-185whp.

Depends on the condition of the motor and where you get your car dyno'ed. I've seen ITR motors with I/H/E, BC3+ cams, with Hondata dyno in at 170 whp, and we've all seen Omniman's 2000 whp B16A...

I havent received the motor or even done the swap yet, i am just getting anxious and want to see if anybody else had done this swap and had some advice or times he could post.

so i should expect 170whp with intake, exhaust, and headers? what about a chip? what gains would a chip do to a type R?

Omniman made 2000 whp on a B16A? WOW, he must be damn good, lol.

what do you mean "chip"

hope your not reffering to something on e-gay'...

suggested bolt on's:
aem 3" intake or any 3" pipe w/velocity stack
good header
2.5" exhaust
hondata, ecutune, or any other good fuel management system + tuning @ the dyno

every dyno is different, id expect around 180ishwhp or maybe better with a healthy motor and good bolt on's

so this is a 110% bench racing thread. you dont have the motor yet anyway.

you seriously seriously need to just start researching instead of jumping into the forums and asking questions like this. no one is going to waste their time outlining something like a B series swap and what it will run with a 17 yr old ricer driving in a car as old as he is.

stock VR is putting 170-180 to the wheels but in a 2000 chassis, its alot heavier chassis and a VR motor is just about twice the weight of a type r...best it will do is mid 14's

I say high 14's until you get used to it. I run mid 14's with mine, but I have a lot of 1/4 time with mine. It doesn't help that my header and cat are to small.
