Default Just did a leakdown test on fresh engine, check results

I just did a leakdown test on my 2.0L 12.5:1 engine. I used a Snap-On gauge. I turned compressor on and set the gauge to 100psi. Connected it to the enigne and the needle for leakdown percent stayed below 0%. Does that mean everything is OK? I was able to hear the air inside also though and VERY VERY VERY faintly able to feel some of it come off the crankcase, I mean I had to sit there for a few minutes before I was sure if it was air. The thing that I don't understand is why I felt the air? Is it just to relieve it self like crankcase pressure? The leakdown needle stayed under 0% the whole time and never showed any signs of leakage.

Celebrate. All is well with your motor. Give it 120 psi and see if you at least get a %. All motors will leak down something. A great condition motor will leak down 2-3% at 120psi ussually. The air you feel out the crank case is slightly past the rings more than likely but hell if it is not showing up on your guage than you have nothing to worry about.

Gauge won't read that high so I went till it maxed out and the needle just went farther away from zero. It's not leaking ****. I even did a rotation just to make sure on everything and when the valves open it read the leakage there, I couldn't nearly even get the piston back to TDC it had so much pressure.

I just redid it setting the PSI to 100psi before putting the gauge on that connects to the cylinder. After I did that it read:
1- 1.5%
2- 1%
3- 1.5%
4- 1.5%

This engine only has around 10 miles on it also so I don't know if the rings are fully seated, I had people follow me when I was driving it and no one ever saw any type of smoke or smelled anything. I think I'm in the clear now.

I built it myself.

Dart block
85mm bore 89mm stroke
12.5:1 compression
Skunk2 Pro1's
TWM ITBs

Did the 2 heat cycles then the hard break in, took it to 4500 a few times and let compression break itself. I'm pretty sure the 2nd way it did it was the right way with setting the regulator to 100psi BEFORE connecting it to the cylinder.

Only 10 miles so far so not 100% broken in yet. As time goes by, the motor should feel better and better once it starts to seal better.

What? If you read any of the thread you would figure it out...

Only part I was unsure on is if you set the regulator to 100psi before or after you connect it to the cylinder, just wanted to make sure everything was set right, I never used the Snap On one before so I thought I'd ask if it was correct...

And I just finished ITB Tools Plus for Crome... You get to be the guinea pig Brian.

In addition to the regular ITB Tools (10x20 tables, non-honda TPS support, etc.)
-Improved resolution: 15 columns for load. 5 columns MAP, 10 columns TPS (vs 3/7 in stock ITB tools)
-User adjustable MAP->TPS crossover point
-User adjustable injector cut point (MAP based)
-Compatiblity with AddExtraFeatures (FTS/2Step)

Once testing is done, it will be released and I can move on to my next coding project...

I'll call you tomorrow re: tuning the bitch

Now if I could just shake this bout of insomnia...
