i read an article of a CBR that was at 200k miles, going strong.

mine has 56K

i would say the majority of sportbikes are crashed before 25K

Yeah, most bikes don't get past 25 or so because they get wrecked. Who knows how long they'll last when taken care of.

yes, keep up on the maintenance really well and any modern sportbike should last much longer than you will prolly keep it!

its all the other stuff that get pricey, replacing tires all the time if you run the stickey stuff, chains and sprockets when they wear out, fork seals when you start trying to learn how to whee, plastics when you drop it, and that not even gettin into the mod thing!

oh ya and GEAR: buy it, wear it, love it.

i dunno about modding it, arent r6's fast as they are? what about those guards that protect the bike if u drop it, how much are those?

oh and believe me ill love my gear, ive seen to many pics of when ppl bite it.

Frame sliders arent that expensive you can get some for around 50 or 60.

Make sure you still love your gear when it's 90+ outside and as hot as a witch's fart.

There's mesh stuff for that occasion. Might look kind of road warrior-ish but its a lot more stylish than road rash

No reason the motor shouldnt last 50-100k excluding accidents.

bikes will last reasonably long... but not compared to automobiles... they just get more abuse, and they are exposed to the elements more. the engines are more highly stressed. But if your talking about milage when it comes to a purchase... a high milage motorcycle is really anything over 10 to maybe 15K miles.... that is considered moderately high milage. though the bikes will run much longer, that's just the way it is. I would never consider a bike over 15K even if it were very special model, when I go looking for a used bike I am looking at 2-7k usually

Exactly how hot is a witch's fart anyway?

Precisely 90+ degrees in humidity that feels like warm mist. Preferably without chunks.

Screw the weather, I just rode my bike on the streets for the very first time today. It was 90 outside, and that didnt bother me one bit, it was the heat rolling out of the bike that really warmed me up. My forearms were sweating like never before!

i had almost 30k on my last kaw and have almost 17 on this one. a friend on a yzf forum said one guy went 100k (commuting to work and back everyday) and still goin strong.

i just think that most people will sell it to someone who's gonna wreck, or wreck it themselves before it gets too high.

My bike has 49k right now and she is still running smooth and strong. Just have to remember to keep maintaining her properly and she will treat you right too.
