Ok, i was talking to my friend rcurry16 and he was saying that my rod stroke is like 2. something well he said in theory that i could rev to some were around 7,000 RPM's but my 6th Gen Accord only lets me rev to 6,100 rpms why is this. Can some one tell me Pleasehttps://honda-tech.com/zeropost?cmd=newtopic&id=2#
Theory and practice are almost always at odds with each other. And it's always that lab testing, field testing and proof of concept testing is all part of the developement curve.
I believe what your guru was refering to was connecting rod ratio. A figure which is derived as a ratio of the rods' length (center bore / center bore) compared to the stroke (L/S). A better measure of where a particular engine designs' power peak is the ratio between Bore (piston size) and Stroke. Generally an over square engine (Bore greater than stroke) will develope power at the higher RPM ranges (Horsepower), while an under square engine will develope power at lower RPMs (torque).
These may, or may not have any bearing on why you're only seeing 6100 rpm's. What is the PUBLISHED red line? When was the car last tuned?
You question is so general that I doubt many more will chime in until you become more specific.

i wouldn't rev to 7k if i were you...your motor is undersquare (and as stated above) will make most of it's power in the lower rpm range...also, piston speed becomes an issue, and at those rpm's you are making some crazy piston speeds...honda made the redline at 6100 for a reason...
