I might be getting a set of used damper/coilover system imported from japan, but the guy said the rears are blown, but the dampers are rebuildable like teins. Anyone know a place that can rebuild it in Socal? And to anyone that has had a set rebuilt, what is the cost? TIA
You're going to have to contact the manufacturer to find a rebuild location. I've never heard of a shop the just rebuilds any brand of shock.

No i didnt buy them yet, and I think u guys mis understand me. I am not just getting the shocks, I may be getting the full coilover type system, however the rear dampers of that system are blown.
Tein kits such as the SS, or FLEX are rebuildable, so if the shock blows, it can be rebuilt over and over again. Not like tokicos where when they blow, they go in the dumpster.
I think there has to be a shop that specializes in rebuilding shocks/ dampers, whatever u call them.

The reason he said $50 bucks is because in all likeliness you're going to end up spending a lot to get the shocks rebuilt. For the most part, shocks can't be sent just anywhere to be rebuilt. You have to send them back to the manufacturer to be serviced in most cases or if you're lucky to an authorized service shop. Zeal and Tein both have US service shops but if it's some uncommon brand then who knows where you might need to send them.
