A/C Compressor noise, '97 Accord EX
I just bought this '97 EX auto, and the a/c was blowing warm. My dad and I checked the R134 level, and it seemed very low, so we added about 1 1/2 cans to the system. That cooled it down considerably (55-60* from 110*) but now the compressor seems to wine. The sound increases with RPM's, and just doesn't sound right. Is my compressor dying? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

chk the pressures and post them here ,,, if your a/c sytem was totally empty 1 1/2 can of freon r134a and i am assuming 12 oz can is ok your sytem holds around 20 oz ....the noise could be from the a/c clutch bearing , a/c belt or compressor ....55-60 is not acceptable for an a/c system should cool low 40s like i said post the pressure here it would tell me if you got an issue with compressor reed valves , exp valve etc etc
