I had mine at 45 psi on the fronts and 43 in the back. (Cold) I checked the tires after the first couple runs and I was right up to the first wear marks. I left it at that for the rest of the runs.

If you are on stock rims, try this:

40 front
32 rear

If you need more rotation, lower the rear to around 30 or 29.

If the fronts are rolling over a considerable amount, up the pressures to 41 or 42 in the front. If they look fine, try 39 or 38.

Make sure to bring some water to cool down the tires after each run too.

Trust me on those settings...

Why would you lower your tire pressures to increase rotation? You've got that backwards.

I've found different tyres react differently to tyre pressure.

Each one has a sweet spot.

Not really...you can either have higher pressures (less conatact patch) or Lower pressures (more tire roll over) in the rear to induce rotation. Just depends on which you want to go. Some people find lower pressures more convenient since its not as "snappy" as the high pressure route.

No need to be a smart ***. Most of the time to increase rotation you add air, not remove it. Point taken.

It can work both ways depending on compound, application and preference.

So, which tires do you guys like better RT215 or the RT615 (for auto-x or for track)? Also, what is your suspension set up for (DS, STX, etc.)?

Tests have leaned towards the RT615. I haven't really ridden too much on the RT215's, but my 615's seem to be doing great.

BTW, the suspension set up for DS (D-STOCK) is....*drum roll*...stock. And beyond that, there are just about a million different set-ups for STX, SM, etc.

I find that I am a bit more partial to the 215s still, although as my 615s wear more I think they are doing better (in the GRM test all the tires were shaved). Maybe I am just getting used to them.
My car seems to rotate better on the 215s, though, not sure why that would be.

My setup Konis/GC 500/600 with 23mm rear bar. (STX).

And the suspension setup in DS is not stock. Im sure almost ALL of the top Natl level drivers are using revalved Konis, and possibly bigger front bar too.

FWIW, I have been running 38F/53R with the RT215's (on a stock suspension with only a JDM front bar) to get the car to rotate. I'm not sure this is the best, but I tried lower tire pressures (35 down to 25) in the rear and the car wallowed and felt like a wet noodle. Also, I spray the tires with water after every run so they don't overheat, especially when doing two drivers in one heat.

I feel the same way. This past weekend was the first expirence I had with the new 615's, other then a few easy sessions at Expo. I spend the entire weekend at gman and a had a couple session on friday evening also. No matter what I did, I could not get the car to rotate to my liking. One positive was the tires did not seem to roll over as much as the 215's. I should say also it was extremely extremely hot and humid all weekend long. However my first impressions were not the greatest and I hope that it changes during my next event.

I haven't seen one test that showed anything conclusive that the 615 is better than the 215. Care to share?

There were a few other posts in RR/AX forum where the track regulars were reporting faster times.

I'm not saying these results are concrete and accurate. There may be outliers that are affecting these tests. Maybe it's the progression of human beings' instincts and reflexes since the RT215's were first introduced that they are running faster times now with RT615's. Who knows?

Chris = pwn3d LMAO

The GRM test is not perfect, but IMHO, its far more accurate than Joe Schmoe "oh yeah, I used XXX tires and they sucked man" of typical internet forum fare.

I personally think the 615 has a little more overall grip than the 215. It is not as 'snappy' due to the softer sidewalls, but overall grip it is just as good or better IMO.

Plus, the 215 is no longer being made. It would behoove you to concentrate on the 615 and the setup that it needs to be fast, because that will be the only tire you'll be able to get in the future.
