just wondering what other honda head units can fit in my 1998 civic ek, and what wiring would i need if i used earlier or later honda head units thanks

 

Honda/Acuras from 86 to 97/98 all use the same plug, 97/98 and newer use a newer plug, pre 86 was diff., and there is one more plug used on 96 and newer some Honda and Isuzu's, that is a lot of HU to pick from, the fit and finish can be a problem in your car though, the face trim on the stock unit for your car is a little diff. 94

was wondering if a stereo install kit would fix the fitment issues and allow me to use a 99-00 civic oem radio, with the use of a conversion harness of course

 

No, there no kits or brackets that can be used to mount OEM HUs, although you may be able to use the 96-98 Civic trim "kit" to fill in the gaps on the left and right of the HU if you use any of the other Honda/Acura HUs. 94
