jdm itr HID headlight problem. one side works, one side SOMETIMES works! for dc2 integra
ok, here's the beginning story.
i bought these headlights that have been hacked into. after trying to plug and play, found out the driver's side HID would never turn on. finally after a good 2 months, i found the time to take out the headlight and take off the ballast from the headlight housing...
found out that the previous owner snipped the two wires coming from the ballast and didn't use the other tiny plug that connects right above the back of the hid bulb. now why in the world would they do that???
so i reconnect the two ballast wires with black electrical tape and put that metallic cloth hose over that part. i reconnect that little clip above the back of the hid bulb, reinstall the headlights, and voila! they turned on! after putting my bumper on and everything, i turned them on again to look at them, and that same driver's side wouldn't turn on! it just made a buzz, and that was it! i tried once more, same thing. i tried a 2nd time, and then they turned on. what the hell!
so i go for a drive, and it looks a little crooked (i need to align the cutoff lines). i park the car, do my workout, and come back to the car, and again, hid on driver's side wont turn on again... tried turning them on and off probably 20 times before they actually came on again! the passenger side is perfect, works like a charm.
so what's the deal here?? do i need to keep certain wires away from the inside of that ballast or something?? did i not make my wire splicing connections tight enough inside the housing?? hmmm. any help will be appreciated!

bummer.... well, i guess it's ok since i DO have an extra pair of phillips 4300k d2s bulbs. hopefully swapping out the bulbs and soldering the wires will cure things
go figure. i was ripped off on these headlights... i soldered the wires, and it still didn't work. same buzz. then i changed the bulb to a brand new one, and it still didn't work!! so i know what the problem is now... the ballast is crap, and i got ripped off cuz i paid way too much for this set WITH a broken ballast...
